TNVR Assistance & Managed Feral Cat Colonies
At Spay Neuter Kingston Initiative (SNKI), all requests for assistance are carefully reviewed by our committee. SNKI is a small, dedicated team of volunteers—all of whom work full-time jobs—operating solely through donations and fundraising efforts. Our ability to provide support depends on several factors, including time, location, circumstances, and available resources (i.e. foster homes and funds). While we are actively working to stabilize our existing colonies, we welcome inquiries about TNVR (Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return) assistance.
About Our TNVR Program
All colonies enrolled in SNKI’s TNVR Program become managed feral cat colonies, with the ultimate goal of stabilizing the population through spaying and neutering. A managed colony has a dedicated colony caretaker to oversee and care for the colony.
To be eligible, colony caretakers must:
✅ Commit to providing food, shelter, and ongoing care for the colony throughout its lifetime
✅ Be willing to trap, transport to appointments and provide a safe recovery space after procedures
✅ Provide a foster space for friendly cats/kittens, if there are no available foster homes
✅ Ensure any new arrivals are also spayed or neutered
Important Considerations:
🔹 SNKI does not have a local vet for spay/neuter procedures. Accepted participants must be willing to transport cats to Brockville or Trenton.
🔹 A SNKI representative may conduct an on-site visit to assess the colony and its location.
🔹 All cats spayed/neutered through our program will be ear-tipped for identification.
We accept new colonies on a case-by-case basis. If you are committed to stopping the cycle of rWe consider new feral cat colonies for assistance on a case-by-case basis. If you are dedicated to ending the cycle of reproduction in a colony, please complete the application below. Our committee will review your request and assess whether we can offer support. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee assistance, as our ability to help depends on factors such as timing, location, circumstances, and available resources.
