Adopt Cats and Kittens in Kingston Ontario – Spay Neuter Kingston Initiative

At Spay Neuter Kingston Initiative (SNKI), we are committed to finding loving, forever homes for the cats and kittens rescued from our managed colonies.

Forever Homes for Rescued Cats

At Spay Neuter Kingston Initiative (SNKI), loving homes are sought for cats and kittens rescued from managed colonies. Each adoption is handled with care so that every feline is placed in a safe, permanent environment.

Local Adoption Applications

Applications are accepted only from Kingston and surrounding areas. This guideline is followed to allow home visits when they are required. By focusing locally, smoother adoption support can be provided.

Careful Review Process

Each application is reviewed by the volunteer adoption committee. Because the number of cats in care varies, additional time may be needed. Nevertheless, this step is taken to guarantee the best outcome for both adopters and cats.

Matching Cats With Families

As part of the adoption process, a phone interview is scheduled and references are checked. In some cases, a home visit is also arranged, especially if another animal already lives there. Through these steps, the most suitable match is ensured.

Why We Have Adoption Boundaries

Thanks to social media, our rescue stories reach compassionate people beyond our local community. While we deeply appreciate the interest, our home visit policy means we can only process applications within our service area. We encourage those outside Kingston to connect with reputable rescues in their own communities—we’re sure there are cats in need near you!

The True Costs of Kitten Ownership

Did you know that in the first year of kitten ownership, one can expect to pay up towards $1989.39 (female) or $1889.49 (male)?  It’s eye-opening when you have all the numbers in front of you.  Ask yourself if you’re ready and we can’t wait to hear from you!
